The KFC picture of Floyd Mayweather Jr. reminded me of the art that Michael Ray Charles created in order to show the stereotypical ways of the society we live in. The picture of Floyd Mayweather, Jr is very much related to the art of Michael Charles. It is a traditional picture and the denotation is that the picture at first glance is of the famous KFC pictorial only with a different face then Colonel Sanders. The Connotation would be that sometimes the link between fried chicken and african americans is made stereotypically. So by posting a famous fighters head on Colonel Sanders body represents a link between the two. This also reminded me of the picture that Michael Charles established by putting a black face on Elvis.
Also I have added another one of Michael Ray Charles works that reminded of the above discussion. It is closely related to the Flyod Mayweather picture.
These Last two pictures of Josh Haglers art are great representatives of stereotypical lifestyles that are explained in a direct but indirect concept.
This picture is in some ways traditional but also modern. When looking at this picture its stereotypical because it is relating a person of color and imprisonment. Its not as historical as Michael Ray Charles work but there is a common link between the meaning. The denotation is a man with barbwire wraped around him. Connotation: A man suffering because of imprisonment either from being in trouble or because of his skin color.
This picture I decided to add to show that Josh Hagler does more diverse work than that of Micheal Ray Charles. He expands into all sorts of different stereotypes. I felt that this particular display showed the common link between Obesity among our society.
